Beaches In Andhra Pradesh - Suryalanka Beach

Earlier History | Culture  | Facts & Figures | Beaches  | Cuisines | Festivals | Around Andhra Pradesh

The Suryalanka Beach is situated at a distance of 9 kilometers from the historical town of Bapatla, in the Guntur district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The natural beauty of the beach and its closeness to the town attracts tourists who often return to the quietude of the sea beach for the weekend.

The nearest coastline to the Bapatla town is the Suryalanka Beach. The beach is endowed with geographical features that are well suited for the visitors. The beach prevalently has a flat terrain. The slope of the Suryalanka Beach declines gradually into the sea which is convenient for those who prefer to

engage in a casual stroll down the sea beach. The shore of the beach is wide and spacious. The Suryalanka Beach overlooks the crystal blue waters of the Bay of Bengal.

The Suryalanka Beach can be easily accessed from the town of Bapatla through the roads that connect the beach to the town. The city of Guntur is the headquarters of the State Road Transport System and has several highways that link the city to the other cities and towns of Andhra Pradesh and other states. Commuting to Suryalanka Beach has therefore become easier.

The Department of Tourism in Andhra Pradesh has set up the Suryalanka Beach Resort that provides the tourist with accommodation and is well furnished with most modern facilities and amenities.

The geographical features and the natural beauty of the coastline and the seashore attracts tourists to the Suryalanka Beach who frequently visit the beach for the weekend or for an auspicious dip in the sea for religious purposes.
