Prime Attractions
Jamia Masjid
The two ancient Masjids co-exist harmoniously. The Safa
Masjid and Jamia Masjid are of 16th century. Near the Masjid
there is a Dargah of Khanjar Wali.
Fort
The fort is there in the center of Belgaum. Two shrines are
there at the entrance, one devoted to Goddess Durga and the
other to Shri Ganapathi. Two bastis made in late Chalukyan
style are inside the fort. Kamala Basti of 1204 AD is the
most popular one. There is Jain temple nearby.
Gokak Falls
Gokak Falls is 5 kms from Gokak town and 60 kms from
Belgaum. The Ghataprabha River takes a dive over a pebbly
bed 170 feet down. Time between June & September is the best
season to visit this.
St Mary's Church
The impressive gothic structure was built in 1869 AD. Light
filters through the attractive marked glass windows and
doors to augment the fine biblical depiction on the wall.
