Prime Attractions
Chennakesava Temple
The beautiful temple reigns on a star shaped pedestal.
Surfaces are covered with well-proportioned figures.
Madanikas (Bracket Figures)
On the elaborate ceiling the four famed bracket figures
are inspired by Shantala Devi's sensuous beauty. One
figurine beauty communicates with a parrot whose tail is
peacock-like while wrings water from her long hair and one
can see the drops collected on hair-ends. The 650 elephants
charging on the fresco in the walls outside are all
dissimilar from each other. The 38 Bracket figures on the
walls are good-looking.
Shantala Devi
On the flat circular podium in the facade of the shrine
stands the statue of the attractive Shantala Devi, queen of
King Vishnuvardhana. The jewellery is void and variable. The
fragility and attention to the least possible details here
are unbelievable.
Pillars
In the amazing darkness inside sparkle the gorgeous
handlathe -turned curved pillars, each exclusive in its
filigreed brilliance.
The Narasimha Pillar once rotated on its sphere bearings. A
small space has been left on it to be sculpted by anyone who
has the talent. It remains intact.
