Beaches In Pondicherry - Mahe Beach

Of the exotic Pondicherry beaches, the Mahe Beach lies in a short distance from the city of Kannur. The beach is bordered by the wooded line of palm trees. Lying close to the beach is the small hamlets of the fisher folk.

The Mahe Beach lies at a distance of twenty two kilometers to the south of the city of Kannur. The beach can be visited from the city of Calicut that lies at a distance of seventy five kilometers from Mahe Beach. The coast forms the northern strip of the the state of Kerela. A natural growth of palm trees mark the fringes of the beach creating a mesmerizing effect on the visitors of the beach.


The tourists may stroll on the Mahe Beach and enjoy the beauty of the rising and the setting sun. The tourists may encounter fishermen who live in the nearby hamlets in the morning. They can observe the early morning fishing activities of the fisher folk. Walking over the shingles and the warm sand in the Mahe Beach in Pondicherry is an exciting and thrilling experience. The children love to collect shells that dwell in abundance in the beaches in Pondicherry.

The Mahe Beach is more popular among the local people of the union territory of Pondicherry. The beach is yet to be populated and visited by the tourists who arrive from different parts of the country.
